The
Raised Access Floor, which is a fundamental component of the
Protek System, consists of a variable height steel substructure
on which a wide variety of modular 600 x 600 mm tiles can
be laid.
The resulting void, between the floor slab and the raised
floor, is used to create the air plenum for conditioned air
circulation; and also to house all building services, such
as power, telephone and data cabling. A standard 250-300 mm
height is recommended for conditioned air circulation (250
mm net height in the floor void). However, where low floor
slab to ceiling height is an issue, a minimum net height of
150 mm in the floor void can be used, utilising Protek's specially
designed Thin RAG (only 140mm deep).
Various types of finishes are available for different applications,
from loose laid carpet and vinyl linoleum, to high quality
ceramics, parquet, granite and marble.
Many different manufacturers can be used and fully integrated
with the components of the Protek System.
Access floors can be in earth bonded quality to minimise
electro magnetic fields.
